I completely understand.

I understand that a team that claims and signs up for AA doesn't mean they are AA. There are two teams that I see right away without even looking hard that have no business declaring the highest level. So instead of BTHL having to tell them "no" or letting them enter the level that is above their head, the BTHL can let the scoreboard tell them.

I understand that there are teams out there who truely don't know if they are AA or A and love the fact that in Sept they can find this out in one day. I find it hard to believe that every AA team that has declared AA, really truely know they are for sure AA material (Yes there are some who know but some who don't)

I understand that this is a huge step in the right direction (and I think most probably see a few things they would have done differently but don't find the need to complain already)

I understand that some of the True AA teams are looking at their division and see at least one, maybe two examples of teams that they know they would beat pretty handidly. And those same teams I'm sure see a team or two that would give them a good game but those teams have signed up for the A division. (In my son's division I see one team that is signed up for AA and no way are they AA. And I see two teams that are sandbagging)

my son plays on a bantam "A" team, we've always finish somewhere in the middle.

I'm looking at the Bantam "AA" teams that have signed up, I gotta believe they can all hold their own.

Columbus Bluejackets "AA"(are always solid)
Dayton Bombers "AA"(loaded with 2nd years, solid)
Indy Gold "AA"(can hold their own)
Louisville "AA (solid team)
Cincy "AA"(maybe the weakest of them, but will hold their own)

So even if a team signs up for "AA" and isn't quite there yet, they're not going to complain, it's what they chose to do.

I cannot comment on the other levels(peewee's...)

As for the "A" bantam teams, I see a team in the "A1" division who could compete with the "AA" teams. As for the "A" teams, I don't see anyone that will be loaded. There are no Columbus teams in it. Most of them are medium and smaller organizations, and if you look at their history, they're probably in the right place.

2 cents opinion on what we will see next Saturday:

AA

1 - Cincy
2 - Indy Gold
3 - Columbus BlueJackets
4 - Dayton Bombers
5 - Louisville

if they are looking to add a 6th team and make four divisons of 6 teams each, then either Cincy A or Indy Silver is best candidate to move up...

A

1 - Cincy
2 - Indy Silver
3 - Evansville
4 - Butler Co
5 - No Ky
6 - Columbus, IN
7 - Centerville
8 - Indy Bronze
9 - Newark
10 - Ft Wayne
11 - Lexington

if they want two divisions of 6 teams each, then:
Lexington ends up dropping downto A1, either Cincy or Indy Silver moves up to AA...then two A1 teams move up which would likely be Sylvania & Bloomington.

A1

1 - Bloomington (17-3-4 two years ago as Pw A)
2 - Sylvania
3 - Dayton Knights
4 - Cincy 1
5 - Athens
6 - Cincy 2
7 - Louisville
8 - So Charleston

I will be off on some....but bet I get a fair share of these right!

In previous years teams didn't "sign up for A or AA". They were placed following the chart by the number of 2nd year players and/or the order in which the team was picked. The overall skill or strength of the team was not taken into consideration. Some teams were in way over their head and some were playing well below their level of play. This will at least allow the teams to compare their strengths and weaknesses to other teams. It will also allow some teams to make a decision whether or not they belong in the Buckeye. Seems like a giant step in the right direction.

Zam,
I agree that Bloomington was an extremely strong eam in 05/06, but there were players that moved to other organizations last year. If they have that whole group back together they could be a strong AA team. Our team has been through a season where we were required to play AA because of the number of 2nd years. ZERO wins and 1 tie, a loooooong season. A pre-season placement tourney 3 years ago would have identified our team as out of place in the AA division. So I think this change, although not perfect, is better than what we have had in the past.

Help, anybody. How do you access the archived rosters? Have they been removed or am I having problems with this old lap top?

In my opinion, Evansville will be the strongest of all the "A" teams and could/should be moved into the "AA" bracket, after that Northern Kentucky will be real good. Indy will be very strong as well. Bloomington has no business trying to drop into the "A1" division, unless they had a mass departure of players, they will finish near the top of the "A" division. Butler County & Cincy will be decent.
