Call it MID AM DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE and keep it only teams that are in the Mid Am District. That way when you go to the select camps you would have played against most of the players. This would make our district stronger and not help Detroit and Chicago fill their leagues

The top Indy Checkers 95 team (Squirt Major) will be in the CSDHL. If CSDHL accepts Minor teams from their member organiztions, vote is this weekend, then the top Indy Checkers 96 team will be in the CSDHL also.

Word around the rinks is the 96 Checkers parents will not go play in the CSDHL (if the vote goes that way this weekend). They feel more competitive in the Buckeye and don't want the travel to Chicago, St. Louis and Wisc.

There are no 96 Checkers parents yet. The Coach hasn't been announced. The team hasn't been selected. It is a little presuptious of parents to make decisions about what a team will do when it hasn't been formed yet. The IYHA, and the Coach they select for the first Squirt Minor team, will decide if they want to have a Squirt Minor team in the CSDHL. If they do have one, then parents can decide if they want their kids to try out for that team.

you're points are right on...the comments made by parents seem to be that 96 is a pretty thin year in Indy (travel level, there are good numbers in house), they didn't know how many players they could lose (or possible players) and be competitive in that league.

To keep the thread alive and with former BTHL teams heading is so many different directions, here's the question: What are the pre-season squirt predictions for BTHL, CSHL, CSDHL, EEAHL, and heck, the MWEHL? No smack, just honest opinions. Are there any independents out there, other than Gilmour (playing in 14 tournaments according to website -- Wow!) and one Columbus team?

Here are a coupl thoughts in my humble opinion

At BTHL: With Columbus out, Cincy for sure

AT CSHL: Strongville, Parma and the Columbus CCYHA Blue Jackets should all contend for the top spot, although there may be a 'sleeper' or two in Cleveland.

At EEAHL: Not a AAA, so any of the stronger AA teams in the division will do well Virginia, Cincy, Cleveland at the top, Virginia and Columbus at the bottom

At MWEHL: A real AAA program - Caeser's 96, Compuware 96 and Barons will all be in the running - Kensington may take it all the way

At CSDHL: Cyclones and Madison perhaps - anybodt's guess at this point - pretty equal across the board

--- Just an opinion ---
