"I'm your huckleberry"
I still can't figure out the leagues. How about just Ohio? Based on last year, here is how I see the first polls of the season--
94s top teams (in order): Barons AAA (easily strongest) Phantoms AAA (some turmoil with organization) Sylvania AA Toledo AA Ohio AAA Blue Jackets (formerly Capitals) Cincy Cyclones AAA (struggled, but added some 95s)
95s top teams (in order): Cincy Cyclones AAA (State AA Champs last year) Ohio AAA Blue Jackets (BJs/Caps merger) Barons AAA (6th place in MWEHL; looking at 8th place this year) Gilmour Sabres AA (lost some players) Cleve. Phantoms AAA (lost their rink and some players) No. Olmsted AA (includes 94s; class of CSHL) Toledo (getting stronger) Cols. Capitals AA (second team BJs/Caps merger) Sylvania
96s (in order): Barons (by wide margin) Strongsville AA (took some lumps last year to be here; SS regional champs) Toledo AA (State AA champs) Cols. CCYHA (State AA runner-up) Cols. Caps (early loss to CCYHA) Cincy
Write it down.
Card92PW -- What's my grade this year? 96 was almost dead on, with only Cincy taking Caps for fifth (ya can't ding me for swapping 5th and 6th?) 95s, only mistake was Cincy in top spot -- they lost too much, but will be back strong next year. Ohio AAA BJs and Barons good picks and in right order. (do you offer extra credit?) 94s, Phantoms were the wildcard that messed everything up. Also, OAAABJs got life in the second half of the season and made a heck of a run to improve their stock -- In short, I give myself a B+ and a 6 pack of TH's (3 sourcreme and 3 chocolate with sprinkles.)

Don't pull up to the Drive Thru just yet. Your 95 and 96 predictions look solid. But the 94's are not even close. According to My Hockey.com Ohio Team Ranking has 94's in this order. Barons 16.35 Dayton 12.68 North Omstead 11.84 Blue Jackets 11.83 Cyclones 11.56
After that, the ratings drop off considerably.
Good job on the 95 and 96 though. At least you had most of the right teams, just out of order on a couple.

will go with solid "B" and bump you to a 12 pack for extra credit. make sure you include canadian maple dip since your talking hockey.
96's - Strongsville is closer to barons than most want to admit, this class is pretty strong in ohio. ccyha/caha forced merge for next year so they may move up but some players may be moving on
95's - OJBJ can't figure out, seem to beat a lot of average-below average teams, can complete with elite teams sometimes, but can't beat the baron's. OJBJ 95 will represent Columbus at Quebec next year so this team may be much stronger and take over the age group. lots of egos and it's also time to clean the bench of parent coaches from this team.
94's - barons look the best, dayton also went indep i think and did well.
might as well start on 97's for next year. Should be easy - 97 columbus caps, this year bthl champs and tourney winners at AA, inter s.s semi finalist. no one compares in ohio, this team needs challenged outside the buckeye state.

Fun 94 AA Ohio State tournament. The team from Toledo will represent the state at Districts. Well deserved. Strong team. Only team from Ohio to previously record a W (I believe, but could be wrong) against a tuff Indy Racer team. Good Luck. Represent OHIO strong at the District Championship! See you next year.

I have to agree with FAN4Ukid, I missed the 94s by a long shot -- so a "B" is too generous. Maybe a handful of Timbits. I don't know how I missed Dayton and N.O.
As for the 97s next year, Columbus is very deep. If handled right that Caps team will be the team to beat in Ohio and Midam Dist.
The 96s, with Toledo (two time tier II state champs), Strongsville (soon to be Cleve. Jr. Lumberjacks), Barons (best team in Ohio) and Ohio AAA BJs (best from Caps and CCYHA joining next year), that will be a tough pick next year. I'll stay with Barons. After that, OJBJs, CJLJs, then Toledo. Although the first three will be Tier I and Toledo will be far and away the strongest Tier II.
The 95s, I like my picks from this year better for next year. Cincy will be stronger with the 95s who played with the 94s returning. Don't know about egos in the OJBJs camp or what one tourny in Quebec might do, but they seem to be getting stronger every year. Barons will always be strong, but they lose players every year, and heard next year it might be their goalie. If so, not sure they will keep pace with Cincy and OJBJs.
94s, Barons are still the team to beat. CSHL teams are always tough to figure out because they don't go by birth year, so N.O. and the rest will probably drop quite a bit -- same with Dayton. After Barons, I like OJBJ. Program as a whole seems to be getting stronger and more competitive.

I heard most if not all of the Dayton Pee Wee team will stay as a '94 team and move to Bantam with the uncertany about Cinci. may draw a few of them. Also heard they may try the LCAHL "A" '94 div.? or go Ind. again?
