I wonder how they came up with that. It looked like Len thought they should be split. Fangers would you really want only 3 other teams in your divison?? I realize the driving sucks but I would think having only 3-4 other teams in your division would be worse. But that is only MY opinion of course. What will be your farthest drive?

Drive has nothing to do with it.

Only having to play 12 league games - as compared to 24 now - would have opened up more dates for tourneys & other non-league games. I don't see much competition within the league...just my opinion...

And now it means all the Cincy teams have to play one another. It's not so much an issue with Major vs. Minor because those are birth year based teams. But the 3rd team is 90/91 combined, which opens up a can of worms for parents - and they are there - who felt little johnnie should have made the top birth year team. Potentially a thorny situation....

Looks like the Pee Wee A division is now picking up on what we all were talking about before the season. This thread might be some good reading for the Pee Wee A thread people.

Bluehawks win Tournament, although top to bottom, Hoosier is a much tougher and deeper conference.

Write it down.

Hmmmm. With realignment, dropouts and pickups the above needs to be tweeked, however, early season polling and returns suggest I am dead on. Here are the revisions with the changes to teams:
Bluegrass:
Dayton Bluehawks (too easy)
Indy Checkers 2 (controversial pick over Indy 1 -- all but one second year players)
Cincy 95 (middle three should have great games)
Indy Checkers 1 (four 94s may push them above Cincy)
Evansville (the Boise State of BTHL Sq.)

Hoosier:
Cincy 94 (again, too easy)
CCYHA 94 (only team with all second year players, should be good, but unknown)
Cardinal (could surprise teams, good goaltending and hung with Bluehawks)
Cols. 95 (young team, long year)
Findlay Select (unknown, but name does not instill confidence)

I agree you are right on.
Would have been interesting to have the Bluehawks, Indy-2, Cincy 94,CCYHA 94, and Cardinal in one divison. And the balance in the other.

CCYHA 94 won a Sportsweekend tourney in Cleveland, so that shows they should compete.

Saw the Bluehawks beat Cincy 3-1, and then 9-1, also the Indy -2 team 0-0 then 9-2.
What were the diferances in these games??? Did Dayton get better or have kids show up that were not at the other games, or did the other teams have kids leave or not show up for the blowouts????

Looks like a month later you are very close. I wonder if this would have been a good year to start a AA gold AA Silver divisons for beter competition. Looks like close games between the top teams and between the middle teams, but when the top play the bottom nothing good comes from it.

Preseason predictions are still pretty much dead on. The only potential shake-ups are the Cincy 95s and Cols 95s over-acheiving. I still think that the Cincy 95s will be overtaken by Indy 2. Not sure if Cardinal can mathematically overtake Cols 95s, so that flip-flop in order in that division might be the only small change.

With a few months to evaluate, Dayton and Cincy 94 are the class of Squirt AA by a decent margin. Dayton has been impressive all season long (with one blip in a tie with Indy 2). Cincy just won a big tournament in Canada and has consistently pounded the BTHL competition. Expect to see those two with an easy path to the BTHL Squirt AA finals.

Cincy 95s are the standout among the youngsters, with a big win in the Silver Stick regional (good luck in the finals) -- looks to be a strong team for years to come. In general, it looks like the 95 teams have had better seasons than most would have thought. Although the Indy 95 team is technically not a 95 team, expect to see a very strong Squirt AA team from Indy next year that should challenge Cincy (if they both play BTHL).

End of season should be fun to follow.

Big questions for next year. Do Cincy 94s and Dayton waste their time playing BTHL Peewee A? Do the play up to PWAA or do they go independent? What about the 95 teams? BTHL SqAA again or independent? Are there SqA teams from this year that can challenge the trio of 95s? Do other associations go to birth year teams?

I wouldn't say it is a waste of time for Dayton or any other of these teams to play peewee A. Have seen the Dayton kids and they are small. The "all star" squirts aren't necessarily dominate once they start getting knocked around.
