You are absolutely right that different first year peewees react different to checking. But, by "waste of time", I was refering to the fact that if Dayton or Cincy play BTHL Peewee A next year, they will likely be playing the same Squirt AA teams, with a few hold over 93s, that they beat soundly this year. That strikes me as a bit of a waste of time. By playing BTHL Peewee AA they would certainly be challenged and they may get knocked around by some of the large 93s, but they would have more competitive games and improve alot more. Or better yet, if I were Dayton, I would look at the Little Caesar's ranked division for Peewee A (Cincy too, but they may be too far South). It all depends on whether they want to compete for BTHL banners or be competitive with the best first year peewee teams in MidAm. Unfortunately, althought the BTHL is a tremendous league, for what it is, history shows that if they play Peewee A BTHL, they will fall behind every team playing Peewee A LCs Ranked (like Toledo) or playing a tough independent schedule (like Cardinal 93) -- which means forget about Silver Stick or State Cups and instead gear up to play some more Sports Weekends Extravaganzas -- that seems to me to be a form of parental hell, sorta like going to Chucky Cheese. | | | | Posts: 99 | Location: Hockeytown | Registered: August 16, 2004 |

Write it down.
Hmmmm. With realignment, dropouts and pickups the above needs to be tweeked, however, early season polling and returns suggest I am dead on. Here are the revisions with the changes to teams: Bluegrass: Dayton Bluehawks (too easy) Indy Checkers 2 (controversial pick over Indy 1 -- all but one second year players) Cincy 95 (middle three should have great games) Indy Checkers 1 (four 94s may push them above Cincy) Evansville (the Boise State of BTHL Sq.)
Hoosier: Cincy 94 (again, too easy) CCYHA 94 (only team with all second year players, should be good, but unknown) Cardinal (could surprise teams, good goaltending and hung with Bluehawks) Cols. 95 (young team, long year) Findlay Select (unknown, but name does not instill confidence)
End of season results show you were very accurate with your predictions, with one exception in the Bluegrass division. You might be able to use these skills elsewhere. | | | | Posts: 10 | Location: Indianapolis | Registered: February 03, 2005 |

Is Cincy 94 and 95 definitely gone? I have read all of these posts saying they are going to some AAA league. Is that a done deal? And what about Indy? Indy 94 pulled out last year to play AAA (and for good reason when you look at their scores with Dayton 94 and Cincy 94), so are the Indy 95s also gone? What is that going to do to Dayton 94s and Columbus 95s? It seems like they may be force to follow Cincy and Indy's lead or go independent. That would mean the top three teams from both of those years will be out of the BTHL. Is the BTHL doing anything to fix this? Can they do anything? It's just disappointing to me because I think the BTHL has a lot to offer and has generally done a great job. It would be sad to see it decline.
The question as to what Cincinnati will be doing next season is a good one. The Indy 95s do have to make a tough decision over the next few months and will be influenced somewhat by what Cincy 95 ends up doing. | | | | Posts: 10 | Location: Indianapolis | Registered: February 03, 2005 |

If the Cincy 95's can pick up 3 or 4 talented players from Dayton (or somewhere), they most definitely will be gone. If not to the EEAHL, then independent. The 94's are gone as well. | | | | Posts: 13 | Location: Ft Wayne | Registered: November 22, 2004 |

Just curious. Has a definite decision been made on the Cincinnati 94s? Where are they going? Has a commitment been made by CAHA to have their top team in each level - Squirt, Pee Wee, and Bantam - play in the EEAHL? | | | | Posts: 10 | Location: Indianapolis | Registered: February 03, 2005 |
