We will not have any idea regarding rankings until we have our preseason tournament the weekend of Sept. 15-16. So far there are only 4 AA teams in the Buckeye. There are 13 A teams and some of them may become AA if they are good enough through this preseaon tournament from what I understand.

From looking at the Buckeye site, the 4 teams so far are the Cincy Cyclones(mixed '97 & '98), Indy Racers, Fort Wayne Comets and the Columbus Capitals. I do know that they are having a AAA major team too. I am friends with the manager if you need a contact.

thanks for the info, I should have looked at the buckeye website myself. So the Caps are gonig to have both a AAA and AA team? We have played Wes and the boys several times over the past couple of years, and just wondered if they were gonig to be competing with us again this year. Thanks for the info.

Hey Guys,

From what I know at the Squirt Major Level for CTH, the Capitals will have 2 Squirt Major Teams.

97 Capitals coached by Todd Ehrie - Playing an independent highly competitive schedule. The Website is http://eteamz.active.com/Capitals97/ please take a look at the calendar and let me know if you have any open dates.

97 Capitals coached by Bruce Mckenna - Playing in the BTHL. The manager is Barb Hayden. I am not sure of their contact information but you can start with www.columbuscapitals.com

If anyone is interested in playing the Caps 97 Team coached by Todd Ehire, please do not hesitate to call Wes Kremer, 614-406-1593.

Thanks and I hope both the kids and parents are having wonderful summers.

See you at the Rink.

Wes Kremer
97 Columbus Capitals Manager

Good luck to your team this year, it should be a good one for you guys.

What's the feeling...will this be the 'last year' with kids trying out for AAA next year or will the team stay together?

Who knows? We are just truly going to enjoy this year and start to worry about the 2008-09 season about February.

Everything will have to be right for this group to make the jump to the AAA team, after observing the politics of the AAA 96 team. At this point the parents and kids get along and Coach Ehrie does a great job with the kids. Thus, it will kind of be up to the AAA Blue Jackets if they want the boys or not.

But, as I said, there is a great deal of hockey and developement that will be taking place prior to next April so we are going to let the chips fall where they may and make the best decision for the kids in the spring.
