I read in the meeting minutes that the louisville storm was suspended for a year. Does anybody know why?
Thanks

I don't know for sure but it could be due to a incident near the end of last season in Cincinnati with the Midget U18 AA team. Following that weakend the team forfeited their remaining games and did not play in the tournament.

LYHA had a Midget AA coach that couldn't control his players or his own mouth (look at record for misconduct penalties on BTHL site). By his own assessment Coach thinks he is a gift to L'ville hockey but is nothing more than a Brooklyn bum who can do nothing more than scream obscenities at his players, opposition and officials. He's ignorant with no sense of sportsmanship. Can't coach a winning team and doesn't know how to lose gracefully. Coach has been dropped everywhere he has been (do a web search on his history). His coaching stole a last place finish from a first place finish the prior year on a team he inherited not developed. The team and organization leadership are an embarrassment to youth hockey in Louisville and youth hockey in general. BTHL did the right thing and MidAm & USA Hockey should do the same. The organization will die by the end of this season (09/10) if not before.

Come on. This is L'ville. If you got blades and stick you're on the team 16 try out 16 make the team... before you conclude sour grapes take a look at the BTHL site for misconducts and talk to some of the teams played in the league. The players on this team aren't the cause of the suspension. There is only one bad apple and that's coach. BTHL didn't suspend the team cause I didn't make it so Cinnamom, guess again but I'll help you. Last game played in BTHL, one player tracked down official to instigate a fight after the game and coach got misconduct for screaming obscenities at the ref. Other players on team got misconducts in the game. Does this sound like a coach with control of his team? Not the first occurrence last season. Now how many other BTHL teams did you see suspended for the coming season? No other options here in L'ville. Play for this jerk or play in HS league. Just my opinion though, you believe as you like.

I have nothing to add to the discussion about the Storm U18 team, only to make a small correction. The Louisville Stallions Hockey Club has a healthy program including U18 and U16 travel teams, so there is an option in Louisville besides the H.S. team.

I'm sorry lville1 but you seem to be quite misinformed on this whole situation. As a player from this team last year that has now moved on to the next level in hockey, I can tell you from my experience last year and in the five previous years that I played for this coach that he is not at all what you are making him out to be. His knowledge of the game and teaching ability far exceed any other coach i've ever been coached by. He is a fomer professional and junior hockey coach, coaching professionally in Europe and as an assistant for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL, arguably the most prestigious, well-known junior hockey team in America, so its hard to question his knowledge of the game, and with us kids he was great. He is a brilliant teacher and teaches kids the things they need to learn in the game of hockey and in life. He gave the young players he coached ambitions and desires to move on to he next level with their hockey careers. As one of his players now playing at a higher level (Midget Major AAA) with desires to keep moving on, I am proof of that. Before he was our coach none of us had any desires to go out and move on with hockey, he brought that out in us. This is something he does so well, bringing out the best in his players. Yes he did have it rough growing up on his own on the streets of brooklyn and that lifestyle has shaped his personality but he uses the intensity he has and puts it toward the game he loves and teaching his players. He is able to pass on the The many important lessons he has learned in his life to his young players. He enstills discipline and character in his players and pushes players to be their best on and off the ice. I've learned five times more from him than any other coach i've ever had and i certainly owe every last bit of my progress in hockey to him. He is a supberb coach and teacher, so lville1 judging by your misconceptions i don't believe you had the right to say the things you said about him. A gift to Louisville hockey is exactly what Coach Joe Liquori is and always has been, and LYHA is lucky to have him as a coach.

Alright, i've been playing under joe liquori for over three years now, and he is by far the best coach i've ever had. He knows the game better than anybody I can imagine, and he teaches us how to play real hockey. Not the joke you all call the BTHL. For the record, we are a successful team, we've had a winning record for the past three years, so please get your facts straight before you start making assumptions and accusations about LYHA. There have been players on this team and under joe that have gone on to play higher levels, such as Midget Major AAA, Tier III junior A, and DI Club. Long story short, you just wish you could have a coach as knowledgeable as he is.
