- A BTHL team plays a non-league game
- Player "A" is ejected after receiving 5 penalties
- Scoresheet info is entered into BTHL with Player "A" only receiving 4 penalties
- Player "A" plays in next scheduled game and never sits out suspension.

Comments?

Every score sheet is supposed to be turned into the teams org. So the Org. should see that this has occured and go to the leauge and forefit that game and enforce the suspention in the next game plus what ever other pentalty they choose to give the coach for allowing this to happen.

sad Another missed opportunity for a coach to teach a kid about INTEGRITY.

Assuming this is at a level where the player should be knowlegable and responsibe (at a minimum a PeeWee level game)I would suggest the player receive a second game suspension (one for the 5 penalties and one for intentional violation of the rule). The head coach should receive a one game suspension as I presume he knew that the player was hit with a suspension. The manager (or whoever entered the game into the Buckeye system) should receive a one game suspension.

This challenges the integrity of the sport.

I am not exactly sure what you are saying here. If the scoresheet indicates that the player was assessed 5 penalties and they were recorded, the officials would sign the sheet to finalize the sheet and should in all cases note the violation per rule 404d on the scoresheet. No other data matters other than the scoresheet. If the coach played this player illegally then the league rules would apply, the player would be required to serve his suspension the next game, and the local association would review this to see if supplemental discipline would be applied. The League board of directors should be informed of the violation and they would be the first line of discipline.

Does a referee have the authority to remove a penalty from the scoresheet after the game ends? Not sure if that is what happened or not.

But the player received his 5th penalty and was asked to leave the ice. The scorekeeper then adds in a 6th penalty for this player, a misconduct.

The coach takes the scoresheet to the officials room. Can the referee adjust the scoresheet at this point to clear the player from receiving his 5th and 6th penalty?
