Fangers,
I agree with you 100%. This is why usa-midam changed the rule during the ice cut.

Was this pw aa team from indy the same team that played in the Mid-American AAA League last year?

I know this question gets old for those in Indy. My son plays 94, so this question isn't directed at his team, but I'll respond anyway.

What constitutes same team? First, Indy hockey leaders realized that they couldn't field competitive Tier I teams below the Midget level and Tier I hockey, except at the Midget level, was discontinued after the 2004-05 season. Had Indy tried to field a Tier I hockey program in 2005-06, they'd have had only one team below Midget. Tier I hockey was dividing the Indy hockey community and ultimately driving kids away from the sport.

The 2004-05 93 Checkers AAA team didn't win a league game and won something like three games all season. Some of those kids now play on the 2005-06 93 Racers team. I'm guessing the number is 6-8. The coach is different. Is that the same team?

thanks for the clarification. it appears it's at least half of the previous year team that played at a higher level.

to the score keeper, you should know what you are talking about prior to posting. No one was cherry picking. If you noticed, Indy was short and kept a guy out at the far blueline. Do you know why that's done? probably not.
The Indy pw coach also asked for a running clock as the game was getting a little chippy and the game was out of hand on the scoreboard. Did you notice Indy dumping the puck on their powerplay? probably not. Don't make assumptions on the coaches unless you can hear what's going on the bench.

No assumptions being made only my opinion. I don't need to hear what's being said on the bench. The conversation on the bench obviously didn't make it to the ice as your players made every attempt to score when they got the puck - if your coach did indeed tell them to hold back - then your players didn't listen. Dumping the puck a few times on a powerplay isn't going to do the job. I didn't see any extra passing going on. Did you move your Defense to Forwards? Did you play your 3rd and 2nd line more? I didn't see your players let up and the score reflected the game I watched as well as the shot count. When your team is still scoring goals in the 3rd period in the last few minutes of the game - and your already in the double digits - something didn't happen. Curious to know what Louisville parents thought about the game...

Am I mistaken or was this not the mid-am districts and suppose to be the best of the best in order to qualify and compete at nationals? Perhaps having state champions is not the best way to select the teams to play at districts? Perhaps letting the host team be represented whether or not they're competitive is not the best way to select teams to play at districts? Perhaps if our district championships were ultra competitive we would be more competitive at the nationals. What is the goal here -- districts is not the place for letting a team off the hook because they are not competitive. Come on folks, this is not a feel good tournament where everyone should play nice. There's a reason we don't have states and districts at the mite and squirt level, we want those levels for development. If you cannot play with the big boys, don't bother to come and then complain later when you're not competitive.

Actually watching the game, the d was playing forward, the 2 top scorers were sitting on the bench for the last 10 minutes. The score was only 6-0 to start the 3rd. I know that's sounds like alot. Hockey freak is correct. I don't want our coaches telling the players to make 10 passes before they shoot or regroup 10 times, we can do that in practice. These aren't games we scheduled, these are games given to us at a REGIONALS...maybe they should change the rules on running clock or teams should decline the invitation. Our kids are told all year long to play hard every shift, no matter who we play. In the last couple of years in AAA, we've been on the other end of those scores and it's more embarrassing when a team goes in on a break or 3-1 and doesn't shoot and goes back out to regroup. We would rather they keep playing, it taught our players to just play hard up by 8 or down by it. That's why this team has gone from 5 wins in AAA to 47 in AA.
