You going? My son & I will be enroute to NC for inline nationals but would love to be able to catch the game. A local kid is in tryouts.

Cool. Eric Miller is from NKy and at one point played for the Checker Midget teams and he's at the tryouts. Be great to see him make the squad.

Fangers, My son and I watched all 3 periods, Eric Miller looked good at times. He and another player got pretty chippy for a shift or 2. I thought that they were going to drop the gloves(and Helmets) if you havent been to a Jr's game fighting is allowed. They had 1 fight last night, Looked staged though but caught the fans off guard. Pretty funny. Enjoyed the game.

Crosscheck
I received an education last year regarding fighting. We billeted a junior player and he would tell me all about it. Yes, sometimes those fights are staged.- or should I say arranged. the fights are very real, but may be set up before the game starts. An enforcer type player needs to showcase his skills somehow!. So two tough guys may agree to drop 'em sometime during the third period or whatever. Not only do they light a fire under their teamates, but they may get noticed for their pugilistic skills by a higher level organization. Its all about moving up, and some of them move up on the strengh of their fighting skills. The first time I saw a junior game and 2 16 year olds dropped gloves(and helmets) I was surprised. Its part of their game. The tough part was to make sure my son knew it was not a part of his!
