I am just curious as to what could be there expressed reasons for that rule. You are on to it, so I wish if you could ask around and share their reasons for it.

May be, knowing the exact reason would help you to see if there is a way around to such a rule, that I concede, is odd.

The following odd possibilities come:

- A single father.
- A widower father.
- Father of an adopted kid.
- Spermdoner father (the kid was borne to unknown persons who utilized his sperms)
- A church father - I think that is not the case.
- A god father.
(add more)

So, look at above and realize how odd would it be that they are leaving out a veteran with 18 years of experience because he is single when they would allow with some or all of the above kind of fathers.

See whether you could do something to qualify for any of the above types of fathers.
