We hope that your season is going well and coming to a positive end.
New York is home to many great hockey players. As a coach you know that the best and brightest youth hockey players participate in spring select teams that gain them exposure as well as surround them with players that will push them to develop their skills. For these high level players, the spring select teams they participate on bring them together and allow these fine young athletes the opportunity to push each other to excel while building lasting friendships that reach far beyond their home organizations. If you ask some of today’s college and professional hockey players they will tell you that friendships they fostered and the skills they acquired while participating on these select teams are still part of their lives today.
The Central New York Selects are spring tournament teams composed of the top youth hockey players from the Central New York area and beyond. For the 2011 season the CNY Selects will be focusing on producing a national level select tournament team at the 2001 birth year. Practices will begin in March and end in June. This team will target only nationally/internationally recognized tournaments such as: New England Chowder Cup, Coca Cola Tournament of Champions, Spring Fling, and Weekend at the Dog House, Montreal Meltdown, OTTF Invitational, Niagara Falls Challenge, etc. We feel that these tournaments are the ones that allow for maximum exposure and experience for elite hockey players.
If you have serious players that you feel would benefit from an opportunity to work with the best players from their birth year and play against top players from North America and beyond, please forward this message on to them. Practices will be structured to be high intensity and longer in length as to allow for less travel for our players and their families. In addition, we will be looking to move practices around to spread travel out for our players and families.
In addition to the information below, interested players should attach their remaining game and practice schedule for scouting purposes as there will not be a tryout for the CNY Selects. All players will be scouted and contacted by CNY Selects staff.
