Looking for a few dryland training drills that are fun yet beneficial. He plays soccer and they do plyrometics at practice and plenety of running. Rollerblades everyday by his own choice along with plenty of shooting and stickhandling.

Since he already does plenty of off ice shooting, stickhandling, rollerblading, plyrometrics and soccer. for example , he probably shoots 200 pucks a day, stickhandles with stickhandling ball 30 min per day, plyrometrics 45-1hr three times a week , and rollerblades at least 30 min per day not to mention he must be actually skating on ice min once per week....hmmm exactly what do you feel he's missing....sleep?

Kids will only do what they like to do. I in no way am pushing him to anything. and since tryouts are over he is not skating on Ice. Just looking for something fun and new to introduce him to. If he does it great.
example: I had him and his sister have a contest who could hop back and fourth over a soccer ball for the longest time. They had fun and were doing plys and didnt know it.
Plus I needed 1 more post to become a mini mite on the boards.

The YMCA is a great way to introduce new sports and do cross training and do it in short time periods for a very reasonable price.
The one near us has everything from Rock Climbing to karate.

All of the sessions are available in beginer skill levels and are very short (10 weeks) My son has done a quick little basketball season and is getting ready to do a 10 week beginner karate session. If he enjoys it he can move onto the next level, if he doesn't we will look at the brochure for something else.

CrossCheck, you are smooth. Any other ideas on how to make dryland training fun and no work?
Running down the hill for overspeed works for me an my son.

I found that spreading mulch, pulling weeds, taking out the trash, and washing the car are all great dryland training tools. I know I hurt after some of these activities...so it must be helping my son, eh?

Draw a 4-square court on the driveway with chalk, and number each square 1 - 4. Have 4 kids play 4-square, with the loser of each set doing a 30-second plyometric sequence called out by the winner (i.e. 1213344 repeat).
