Oh and the last time I checked communication was a two way street that involves listening, which was something you refused to do with any of the coaches who's teams you were involved with while you were with the organization.

Again, you must have the wrong person.

So, back to the original point, a first time head coach for a major organization is misrepresenting his credentials. Should it be stood for? The credentials of the coaches should be forthright and true. Not smoke screened in this manner. Coach all you want, just don't misrepresent your experience level. There are people out there who don't know any better and deserve to have accurate information. Especially if it is posted on an organizations official website. Off to a great start with your communication skills this year coach.

Hey fan4u, I never said when you left. So why are you now trying to misrepresent who you are?

A hidden agenda would be correct fangers.

I agree with Fangers.

Delete this thread it is obvious this is a local personality spat and doesn't belong here.

Fangers, I contacted the organization prior to my original post. Nothing will be done, no matter how wrong it is, nothing will be done. Parents shouldn't stand for it. The organization shouldn't support it. The many coaches in this orgaization who are wonderful, honest, outstanding people who have honerable intentions shouldn't stand for it.

How can a person claim he coached when the kids did not even know he was a coach.

Parents deserve more honesty and forthright communication that this.

Let's see if I understand...

...you're no longer a part of the organization in question
...you've already brought this "discrepancy" to the organization's attention and the organization has replied to you
...another poster claims the "discrepancy" that you claim really isn't
...I think it resonable to assume that you've already told any parent you know in that organization about this "discrepancy"
...you continue to post about it here.

Why do you care anymore? Outside of having a personal issue with said coach and/or organization?? What good does it do to continue to post about it here? This site is one of the few that is relatively free of such personal issue/organization bashing and I personally would like to keep it that way.

Not that I condone any coach enhancing his/her resume with false information, just not sure any good comes from continuing this thread...

I have not heard a reply from the organization. I have not mentioned this to anyone except the organization and this thread.

I wish I didn't care. But to make a long story as short as possible, I care because the dishonesty of this person and others in his group cost my son a great deal of pain once. I will always care about that. Making up half thruths/half lies about people in order to progress your coaching career or your sons hockey career has become a mainsteam and this situation was the perfect example of it.

OK I'm done with it.

I don't think there is much more to go on this topic anyway, but I am closing it. The Commish can always over-rule me, but it has served its purpose.

This forum is about discussing issues of concern to those involved in youth hockey in an open and non-confrontational manner and I hope, for the most part, it is that. I don't think that the original question is really out of line and unless someone knew the original poster did it make any slanderous claims. The question was posted, suggestions were given-- exactly as anticipated--including information which may or may not have been known to the original poster. Perfect.
