David, I just explored your site, and I really liked it.
As an older Phys Ed Major (with a Coaching Concentration), and one who likes to keep-up with the latest in science, I'll enjoy exploring the site further as time goes along.
Then, as an FYI to volunteer youth coaches who may pass through this area... Unfortunately, I find a lot of 30- and 40-somethings still teaching the game the way they experienced it some 2o- or 30-years ago. But, let me tell you... So much more is known about training today. And, I find new information coming fast and furiously. The truth of the matter is that the Ovechkin-types (to include top Russians and Swedes) grew-up being trained according to the sciences, whereas most North American kids get their training in helter-skelter fashion.
While on the subject of new training ideas... I usually use the early off-season months to explore other sports. I don't borrow stuff blindly, mind you. But I instead try to find ideas that fit with the "nature of our game". (In other words, I ask myself if a new training idea really will help my players with the challenges they face in their game.) So, to date, my guys are doing things like sprint training, agility ladders, a little gymnastics, and even some things I adapted from the martial arts. And, in the end, I think my kids are more athletic, faster and more agile than those in most other nearby programs.
Lastly, a question for David... Are there plans to someday make your site interactive? I mean, although it would take some work on your part, something like a blog might be ideal for Q & A's and for the exchange of ideas.
